B481 Park Corner, Nr Nettlebed – Resurfacing

In an effort to help keep residents informed, MG Group (responsible for the delivery of the resurfacing scheme along the B481 at Park Corner, have asked that the following information be shared with the community.

Published: 21 May 2026

Location:

OCC have programmed to complete the full width resurfacing of B481 Park Corner between Nettlebed and Cookley Green.  This is purely a maintenance scheme so currently everything will be reinstated ‘like for like’.  Copies of the GA drawing showing the agreed scope, along with a copy of the agreed diversion route which will be used during the full closure are included at the bottom of this post.

Dates & times:

The advance civils works will be carried out under temporary traffic signals for 4 daytime shifts; 07:30-17:00Hrs to complete advance verge and drainage repairs.

These civils works are programmed to commence Monday 29th  June for 4 weekdays.  Please note that the traffic signals will be removed fully between shifts.

Resurfacing works are programmed to take place over a series of three overnight full road closures, following which we will reinstate all legal and existing road markings.

Works are programmed to commence Thursday 9th July, with working hours being 20:00 – 06:00Hrs.

A fully signed diversion will be installed routing traffic around the overnight closure during the working hours

Access Arrangements:

  • Bus services only run daytime and can get through using the traffic signals during civils works, thus will run to their normal timetables.  They are not affected by the overnight road closures.
  • Access during the civils works will not be restricted as traffic can get through in both directions.
  • During resurfacing operations, we will endeavour to maintain as much vehicular access to businesses and properties affected by the works.  We will move equipment and machinery out of the way and allow access for residents.  However, there may be occasions where delays are likely once the new surfacing is laid, as it takes time to cool down and cure, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
  • Residents within the Park Corner loop will have vehicular access from one side or the other during resurfacing operations.
    • Thurs 9th – works btw Cookley Green and Park Corner. Vehicular access to Park Corner maintained via Nettlebed or Huntercombe End.
    • Fri 10th & Mon 13th – works btw Nettlebed and Park Corner.  Vehicular access to Park Corner maintained via Cookley Green only.
